Welcome
Welcome to the 3D Super Aquathlon, a charity event where All proceeds will go to Skerries RNLI Lifeboats.
On Sunday of 14th August 2011 there will be three events. These are the now traditional Sprint Aquathlon, the 3D Super Aquathlon and the final of the first RNLI Aquathlon Series.
Start time is 12 noon on the South Beach in Skerries.
All the details you need should be available here but if you have any questions just contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions.
An aquathlon?
The biggest question for most is, "what is an aquathlon"? Well, it's a triathlon without the bike section. So in effect you have a swim and a run.
The Sprint Aquathlon is made up of a 750 metre swim and a 5km run.
The 3D Super Aquathlon consists of a 1500 metre swim and 10km run.
The final of the first RNLI Aquathlon Series is Sprint distance (750m Swim and 5Km Run).
Entry
Cost is €25 for Triathlon Ireland (TI) members, €30 otherwise.
The additional cost for non-TI members is to cover the purchase of a One Day License (ODL). This ensures that you are covered by TI insurance to take part in the event.
Relay teams of 2 can also take part, and the entry fee is €35 for TI members. Again a One Day License must be purchased if neither person is a TI member. Only one ODL is required per team.
Remember: All profits from this event go directly to the Skerries RNLI Station.
Entry for the final of the RNLI Aquathlon Series is by qualification at any of the series events. See rnli-aquathlon-series.com for more information on the series.
